I specialises in the cold working of glass. I Design and embellish my range of plates, bowls and glasses. Primarily inspired by Primitive Art, Developing techniques of etching through layers of coloured glass to create designs that are both contrasting and tactile. Working on the functional forms, creating ranges of tableware that emphasise the functionality of each piece.

Glass evokes an ancient and elemental inspiration for my glass jewelry designs. Jewelry in its most basic form has been used since the dawn of man individuals from every culture have used jewelry as amulets, personal ornamentation and symbols of wealth. Some of the earliest use of glass (beads) in jewelry can be traced to Mesopotamia and Russia around 2180 B.C. glass jewelry was also found in Tutankhamen's tomb. Mother Nature made the oldest and most intriguing glass. Often called Angels tears. With an inquiring mind I strive to make jewelry that has a mystic elegance and a timeless beauty. The glass I use is made from my own furnace that I have fashion by hand with simple tools and techniques that have changed little since ancient times.

I never feel any older: but as I grow older I wish that I knew what I know now. Or to put it another way I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now In simple terms, I wish I could go back to my early teenage years and give myself a big slap for not appreciating Elvis Costello The Smiths, Jesus and Mary Chain The Stone Roses David Bowie I could go on.

Things I like to do: glass work, reading, sailing, gardening, flying kites, and mastering the Bodhran drum and ukulele

My favourite poems: The Stolen Child by Yeats, He Wishes for the Clothes of Heaven by Yeats, Nigh-No-Place by Jen Hadfield and If by Rudyard Kipling

The books I have read twice: sci-fi and fantasy genres like Terry Pratchet, The War of the Worlds, Robin Hobb, Ender's Game, Dune, Tarka the Otter, and Where the Wild Things Are.
